"For pretty much all of my life I never considered myself as a runner. In fact, I hated running. It wasn’t until my husband convinced me that we should take-up running together that I finally decided to give the sport a try. Now with a half marathon under my belt and two full marathons in my future I can say I no longer hate running. But I still don’t consider myself a runner, I am just someone who straps on her shoes and heads out the door early every Saturday morning to try and make a difference.
This fall and winter, I am participating as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team in Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
With Team In Training, I will be will participating in the Dallas White Rock marathon on December 5. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!"
